Andrew is a Managing Director at Nuveen, a $1.3tr Asset Manager owned by TIAA. Nuveen invests in both Public Fixed Income and Equity, and Private Markets and Private Assets. TIAA provides financial retirement services in the academic, research, medical, cultural and governmental fields. In his role as Global Head of Technology for $200bn+ of Private Assets and Private Products at Nuveen, Andrew leads the division’s Technology Strategy and Product roadmap. He Implements Quantitative and Computational solutions to enable business efficiencies and scalability, and drive Innovation through Digital Transformation. He leverages both SaaS solutions and builds in-house software and analytics. Previously, Andrew was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, leading global Quantitative Strategy (QuantStrat), Risk Modelling and Software Engineering teams across Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the Merchant Banking Division (MBD) and Special Situation Group (SSG). Andrew originally joined Goldman in 2010 as a QuantStrat in the Credit Flow Trading team within the Securities/Markets Division. Andrew is an expert at applying Quant/Tech across the end-to-end lifecycle of Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Natural Capital, Impact investing. Originally starting his career as an Investment Banker at Credit Suisse in the Financial Sponsors Group, he created pitch books and financial models (LBOs/DCFs) for Private Equity sponsor clients. Andrew also spent time at CERN, the Particle Physics research institute in Geneva, Switzerland. Andrew serves as a School Governor for the Harris Federation and is an advisor and investor to several startups. He regularly speaks at conferences on topics related to Private Markets, ML/AI, and Technology innovation/disruption. Andrew earned an MA, MSc and DPhil/PhD from the University of Oxford. He has also completed the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) executive post-graduate degree from the University of Berkeley Haas School of Business. He loves learning and has completed many academic courses across Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing and Product Leadership.
